Abstract
SUMMARY
Purpose: To initially assess the technical ability to apply tomography multi - detector row (MDCT) in the small bowel pathology.
Technical subjects and conducting: The group study included 108 patients who were suspected of having the small bowel diseases, admitted to Bach Mai Hospital. The noninvasive protocol was used (non nasojejunal tube). Enteroclysis images were performed by the multi - detector row helical computed tomography system, before and after injection iodinate contrast material, 1.5mm section thickness, multi-planar reformatted.
Results: In group study of 108 patients, MDCT Enterography were well tolerated in 77 patients, 29 patients felt difficultly to perform the protocol because of the large volume of NaCl 0.9%. Two patients had abdominal pain, three patients had nausea, two patient had vomiting at the end of process. MDCT Enterography can diagnose the small bowel tumor, inflammatory small bowel diseases, volvulus of small bowel, duodenal diverticulum.
Conclusion: The MDCT Enterography has good ability for applying and hight value in approaching and detecting the small bowel diseases.
