Abstract

Objectives: 1. Describe Doppler ultrasound features of breast cancer and fibroadenoma. 2. Identify the value of Doppler
ultrasonography in differentiate breast cancer and fibroadenoma.
Methods: Research on 84 female patients whose localizing solid lesion was recognized on ultrasonography. They were
examined, treated and followed-up at Hue Central Hospital.
Results: There was no significant difference in intra-tumor vascularization in two groups of patients. The resistant index
and peak systolic velocity in diagnosing breast localizing solid lesion was relevant in breast cancer and fibroadenoma patients.
The resistant index was valuable in differentiating benign and malignant lesions at RI cut-off point of 0.745 (Se = 0.81%; Sp =
0.95%), p < 0.05.
Conclusion: Doppler ultrasonography was valuable in diagnosing breast cancer and fibroadenomas.
