Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to describe the imaging characteristics of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) during the follow-up of liver transplant recipients in the first month. Subject and method: Sixty-seven recipients after living donor liver transplantation at 108 Military Central Hospital were examined with triphasic hepatic computed tomography. Examinations were performed using a multidetector scanner. Result: In 67 patients (54 males & 13 females), the average age of patients was 55 years old, the youngest was 10 and the oldest was 75 years old. Indications for liver transplantation are mostly hepatocellular carcinoma (38.8%), acute liver failure (35.8%), and cirrhosis (23.9%). Arterial complications were found in 14 case: hepatic artery thrombosis (07 cases), hepatic artery stenosis (04 case), hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm (01 case), 02 cases of synchronous pseudoaneurysm and hepatic artery thrombosis. We documented 14 cases of hepatic vein thrombosis and 01 case of inferior vena cava thrombosis. Conclusion: MSCT is a non-invasive and accurate examination to detect vascular complications in the recipients after LDLT, it provides synchronous evaluation of the hepatic vasculature, liver parenchyma. MSCTA is the best option for confirming the US suspicion of vascular complications. The detection of complications on MSCT greatly contributes to diagnosis and treatment.
