Abstract

SUMMARY


Methanol, also known as wood alcohol,when ingested, the initial symptomsof methanol intoxication include central nervous system depression, headache, nausea,and confusion.
Sufficiently large doses cause unconsciousness and deat. Brain magnetic resonance imaging performed on day 3 showed necrosis of bilateral basal ganglia, especially the putamen. Methanol Intoxication can be treated with fomepizole and and hemodialysis or hemodiafiltration.
